For hands free-guitar tuning, the wise choice would be a clip-on digital guitar tuner. Hands-free implies that there is no need for cables or any connection that the guitarist should plug into. The clip-on digital guitar tuner is clipped on the heads of the guitars so they can pick up the vibration of the string tones. This clip on digital guitar tuner picks up vibrations and not sounds so it is the right tuner when you are playing in front of many people. Clip-on digital tuners can work for other types of guitars, such as the bass, acoustic and electric.
If you want to check the computer software of digital guitar tuners, then you need to have either of the following, USB port plus cable or a microphone that is usually built-in the computer.
Decide which tuning you want to play in, whether the standard tuning or any tuning possible. Digital guitar tuners can be even used for Drop D, tuning in from the low to the high.
Digital guitar tuners operate the same way as other guitar tuners. If it flashes a green light it means the strings are in tune, it flashes red if there is a mistuned string. You can loosen or tighten the guitar string by turning on the tuning pegs. Do the same process for all the strings and double check it again in case a string might have lost its proper pitch. Be careful in tugging the string so as not to break it and start all over again.
